Shalynne & Rick

Like many swinging couples, we are in a committed relationship with one another. My wonderful husband and I have been together for nearly five years, married almost two. We got into the lifestyle about 3 years ago, so we’re not total newbies, but don’t consider ourselves experts by any stretch of the imagination.

We have jobs, kids, pets, hobbies, chores, you name it. We just occasionally share our sexuality with other people. We have a number of friends in the lifestyle, and have not, to date, shared our lifestyle with many ‘vanilla’ friends (those who do not swap partners for sex).

We love riding motorcycles (I ride on his), traveling, photography (many of these pics were taken by him), and exploring our fantasies together. I love to write, too. I get to be very creative in my day job, but blogging about our sex life takes my creativity to new heights. I hope you enjoy reading our fantasies, real-life indiscretions and observations about sex, swapping partners, and the people we meet.

Here is a bit more info on the cast of characters that we have a lot of fun with.

Angelina – Our occasional sex-crazed unicorn. While she was married, she would play with us with the full knowledge and consent of her husband. Talk about a super-freak. She was eager to try everything; swing clubs, BDSM, gang-bangs, you name it. We took her to a few clubs where we discovered how much she loved to be watched. She even brought along her friend Antonio who turned out to be a great playmate for me (Shalynne) as well. Haven’t been with Angie since Halloween, but we recently touched bases when she told me how happy she was with a new guy who’s talking marriage with her. Meanwhile, Antonio is now dating someone exclusively who isn’t in the lifestyle, and with no desire to be. We’ll see where the new year takes all of us. Read more about our adventures here, and here.

Janelle – Janelle is my playmate only. She is a beautiful bisexual woman who prefers intimacy (physical and emotional) with other women although she is married to a man. She and Rick are friendly enough, but whenever I hang out with Janelle, it’s just the two of us. You can read more about her right here.

More to come!

Awesome blog! How do you think the stigmatization of swinging has affected you (if at all)? Are you and your partner open when it comes to discussing your lifestyle with friends and family? From a sex therapist point of view, swinging has always interested me! It goes against societal norms, even when there are so many people practicing this lifestyle!

Thank you for the kind words, Dr! We do not discuss this part of our lives with our family or “vanilla” friends. Vanilla is the term swingers use for those people who aren’t in the lifestyle. Interestingly enough, I think my own parents may have dabbled in the lifestyle when I was a young child, but I’ve never confirmed this with either of them and I just don’t think I would feel comfortable discussing it with them. When Rick and I first entered into the lifestyle, I thought we would just find a few ‘deviant’ couples to share some fun with. Little did I know how many thousands of people are either active participants or at least very friendly to it. The hardest part of this lifestyle, IMHO, is maintaining friendships among the two groups – vanilla and swingers -and never the ‘twain shall meet, as they say. I have been enjoying your blog as well – I appreciate your positive attitudes about sex and relationships!

It is really interesting how many people are apart of this lifestyle…way more than I ever could have imagined (and that’s just counting those who talk openly and honestly about their experiences!)
I could see how it would be difficult getting your two friend groups to mix (unless your vanilla friends are very open-minded!)

And thank you! I was thinking about putting an article together about swinging on my blog, and perhaps when the time comes I could ‘interview’ you (as you’re clearly the expert on this topic! Let me know what you think! Until then, I’ll keep enjoying your blog 🙂

I would love to be part of your article, Dr. Whenever you’re ready, you know where to find me (and my hubby!)
        Cheers! 🙂

Thanks, Joy! We’ve been so busy lately with kid and work stuff and holiday prep that I haven’t written much here, but that’s going to change very soon, as I have much to tell about a new class Rick and I took.

How did you first have a conversation with your spouse about this lifestyle?

I found your blog today and CAN’T stop reading! My husband and I recently decided to open our relationship to enjoy our sexuality and I came across one of your blogs on pleasing a women and passed it on to my husband so he could have a better insight on what really makes women feel good so that he can please me and his other playmate on the side. I am so glad you have this blog!

Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoy reading the blog. Be sure to check out the ‘erotic fiction’ while you’re here; it’s pretty hot, and can definitely set the mood, if you know what I mean. 😀

      Welcome aboard!

Shalynne that’s for following my wordpress blog but as a suggestion follow my blogspot blog at I only use the wordpress one to post on sites as wordpress decided that my articles on swinging must have offended their sensibilities and banned my original site so there is not much there.

BTW I love your site and as seasoned swingers also, it’s good to meet other couples.
